This is one of the prettiest places in Mumbai, and it is really close to my house which makes it great!
It is one of my favourite haunts, I just go to the sea, sit on the parapet read a book, contemplate, be with friends, meditate, do yoga, watch sunsets, star gaze at night whatever....
Initially this place used to be crammed with food stalls serving Chinese, Indian meals, corn cobs, green chana (really tasty food dish
) also there were stalls of games where we could take a gun and shoot balloons. However these stalls have been shifted a little away from the promenade.
This place is being developed as an international tourist location, recently it was totally renovated and it a very picturesque location! There are plans for a huge Shivaji (who else!!) Statue in the middle of the sea, a restaurant and an amphitheatre here. I hope the plans for the statue get stuck in government bureaucracy and don't get through
Horse riding and horse buggies are also available here.
